Hyde Park Picture House opened its doors on Monday 2nd November 1914, lauded by local press as the ‘cosiest in Leeds’ and praised for its ‘decorations […] on a most beautiful and lavish scale’. Surviving world wars, the rise of television and multiple threats of closure over the past century this iconic building has held a central place in Leeds' cultural landscape, playing host to everything from family film nights to International Film Festivals. Hyde Park Picture House most recently re-opened its doors in June 2023.
